Fantastical F1
So with the first race of the F1 season off to a flying start, many questions have been asked, many have arisen and I’m sure many more are to come.
This season promises to be one of the most interesting in recent memory, not necessarily due to the racing, but rather from the sheer diversity of internal battles and feuds presented. Now I’m the first to say that the move to have one tank of fuel for the entire race was about as an intelligent idea as making everyone race backwards would be, but luckily everything else seems to have made up for it.
Firstly there’s the Lewis/Jenson dichotomy, fighting among themselves for supremacy as the top Brit. Those fake smiles don’t fool anyone guys! Secondly we have old rivals Britain vs. Germany all lined up for yet another fight – McLaren up against Mercedes, of course made all the more appetizing as they used to be tighter than two peas in a pod. And the Maestro himself, Michael Schumacher is back to show all the young whippersnappers just how it’s done. Thirdly Ferrari is back in the mix. And so far sacrificing the 2009 season to the very fickle Formula 1 gods seems to be paying off, with them flying high at the front instead of limping around taking points scraps here and there. Last, but by no means least is Red Bull, hoping to yet again upset established names and leave everyone with very bruised egos in the process.
So what exactly am I getting at? Well for the first time in a while picking who will come out on top in each race, and indeed the season, is incredibly difficult and the subject of much debate – in the same way that predicting what the economy will do next is – with a million people willing to throw in their two cents and none of them having the foggiest what will happen. Unlike the economy however, for F1 this is a good thing and a lot of fun is to be had from it. I am of course talking about Fantasy F1. Now there are many leagues out there, some good, some not so good. All I can say is that I’ve chosen to be part of the SuperSport Fantasy F1, which is free, simple to understand and has already proven to be tremendous fun.
Personally I would recommend it to anyone who wants to add a little spice to their Formula 1 viewing and as you would imagine DriveRSA has its own mini league, with anyone and everyone welcome to take us on! So if you think you know more than us, or even if you think you’re luckier than us, join in, take part and put your skills to the test. Sign up at www.supersport.com/fantasy and our league number is: 6370705791926 . Hope to see you all there.
